Where it all started fermenting
Since 2020, I have been crafting a unique, hybrid world, a place where everything ferments, and where creations in the workshop interact with living wine in the cellar.
I studied fine arts in Strasbourg and jewelry making at the Goldschmiedschule in Pforzheim, Germany.
Then I decided to return to my hometown in Katzenthal, Alsace, to take over the biodynamic family estate and incorporate a creative element into it.
Tack & Glou was born from this: Tack evokes the sound of tools in the workshop, and Glou the song of fermentation in the cellar.
These two activities may seem very different, but they are closely linked by the process of fermentation, which I apply in the cellar with my father’s help, intervening as little as possible to make living wines, and also in the workshop, to grow new kinds of materials showcased in moving sculptures called BULBILES !
In the workshop, living microorganisms weave cellulose through spontaneous fermentation, and I simply work alongside them, letting nature do it's thing :)
I highlight this new fascinating material in objects that can be worn or used to enhance a space.
Each piece is unique in its structure, patterns, and colors, allowing me to share the magic and the complexity of fermentation.
To me fermentation evokes something that cannot be controlled, something unexpected, fragile, that allows us to rethink our place in the living world.
It is precisely in this spirit that I created the BULBILES; they evoke the bubbles of fermentation, a fragile, unpredictable structure in constant motion.
